The Riders Branch, The Royal British Legion Scotland.
Registered Scottish Charity SC 042019

|
The Riders Branch, The Royal British Legion Scotland (RBLS Riders) formed on Saint Andrews Day, 30 November 2010, in Edinburgh at the Headquarters on Logie Green Road. The branch is categorised as a “National” Branch within the Constitution of The Royal British Legion Scotland and has members throughout Scotland and beyond although, our primary platform is Scotland in which we are pro-actively recruiting. Our secondary platform for membership is receiving approaches for membership worldwide. |
We are keen to enlist the support of motorcyclists who have a willingness to help The Royal British Legion Scotland to promote remembrance & comradeship and in partnership with other ex-Service charities, in order to support our ex-Servicemen and women and their dependents throughout Scotland. Members are categorised as either ORDINARY or ASSOCIATE Members. We also have "Affiliate" Status for those who wish to ride with the Riders Branch from other Branches within the RBLS and they are invited to pay a £4.00 donation to receive emails and purchase merchandise.
We share a common bond by our enthusiasm for motorcycles and previous service in the Armed Forces is not a mandatory requirement but all members will be expected to “buy into” supporting the The Royal British Legion Scotland. The only qualifying criteria is that everyone must adhere to the law of the road and maintain a ”good citizen” approach to membership. We will endeavour to develop a biking culture in the branch and take part in all types of biking including rallies, rideouts, formal events and fund raising. We have recognised with OSCR the Branches fund raising charity term “Voices For Veterans” and will annually support ex-service charities throughout Scotland, or given reassurances that funding allocated is spent "IN Scotland"!. The Riders Branch, The Royal British Legion Scotland is Registered as a Scottish Charity, Number 042019.
All members are encouraged to play an active part within the RBLS Riders, however, it is appreciated that members may belong to other groups and cannot attend everything!. We are split into 4 areas - NORTH, EAST, WEST and CENTRAL. We have our own member forum accessed through a link provided on this page. We will develop merchandise which is always a great money raiser within the biking world.
We must remember that although we are bikers, we are doing so to raise awareness and funds to support our ex-Servicemen and women and their dependents throughout Scotland. Although, we can enjoy ourselves doing it!
The RBLS Riders will endeavour to help support other Royal British Legion Scotland Branches in social events and ceremonial occasions, such as wreath-laying on Remembrance Sunday or organising events to mark Veterans' Day and military anniversaries remind the public as to the debt of honour we owe the Fallen.
Our fundamental principle are; Assistance, Benevolence and Comradeship (ABC).
